«Discovery of Bulgaria» Project

Excavations on the settlement Ruino – Kartal-kale (2000-2002) discovered ruins of a very interesting fortress dated by the First Bulgarian Kingdom. Its walls by their strength are second only to fortifications of a capital, and the inner quarters are the widest ones of the so far discovered. After two terrible fires, connected with wars of the Kiev knyaz Svyatoslav and invasion of the Petchenegers, the population was forced to leave this locality forever.

[ 30-06-2008 ] Opening The Photoexhibition «Moldova in Faces and Destinies»

On June, 30th, 2008 the Fund "The World as the Mirror for Moldova" organized an exhibition within the international summer school. The Organizers of the event are the University Higher Anthropological School, 'RIA Novosti' and ITRC 'Mir'.

50 students, lecturers and directors of four high institutes of higher education from Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, heads of the Moldavian mass-media have taken part in the summer school activity. There should be mentioned among the invited foreign experts such names as the legendary professor Yasen Zasurskiy, the MSU Journalism Faculty President; Leonid Vardomsky, Doctor of Economics, Head of the CIS and Baltic Countries Center of the Institute of Economics Russian Academy of Sciences; Irina Petrovskaya, Observer of the newspaper "Izvestia" and the radio station 'Echo of Moscow'; Alexey Solomatin, Advisor to Director General, 'RIA Novosti' Agency; Vitaly Dymarsky, Vice-President of the 'Public Relations Development Company'; Kestutis Jankauskas, Permament Representative of Lithuania, Political and Security Committee of the European Union; Vadim Dolganov, Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper 'Capital News' (Kiev).

The uniqueness of this summer school is due to the fact that the students have got an opportunity for a close dialogue with persons forming directly the policy in the domain of the stable polyethnic society development, in terms of state image formation and reintegration of the countries. Therefore, this summer school has probably no analogues in Moldova on representation of participants.

The works by Denis Topal, the photographer and the director of the project "The Dniester as a Territory of Life" united the results of the expeditionary work within the implementation of the TV project with the same name.

The photo series 'Moldova in Faces and Destinies', presented to the participants of the international summer school is an original "anthropological research" showing the faces of the Moldavian culture in their variety, sometimes unpredictable.
